Sharp Lens
Sharp Lens provides construction documentation photography and videography. The client wanted the website to both represent his brand and serve as a hub for clients to review and download their photo and video galleries. The result was more than just a sleek website: Sharp Lens received a streamlined business process that benefits both them and their customers.
Instead of using the standard WordPress framework, I created a unique workflow using some more efficient photographer-focused services. WordPress is great for web commerce, but this project needed to have photo gallery functionality with large file storage and download capabilities. It also needed to work with batch photo editing software.
That’s why I split the project into a framework with three parts: the Desk, Warehouse, and Storefront.
ALL TOGETHER NOW
The “desk” of the operation is Adobe Lightroom Classic. The Sharp Lens photographer uploads raw photos into Lightroom to work on edits and photo enhancements. Next, the finished photos move to the “warehouse,” where they can be stored, accessed, downloaded, and delivered. I chose SmugMug for this purpose because it plugs into Lightroom Classic so the user can access all of these features from one place.
Finally, the “storefront” of the operation is WordPress, which fuels over a third of the world’s websites. WordPress allows designers and developers like me to create unique user experiences with plugins and world-class tools, so it was the best choice for this project.
With this unique approach to web design, I created more than a beautiful website. I helped my client enhance their workflow, improve their customer experience, and empowered them to provide high-quality services above industry standards.
